Hello! I'm Christine Beischel from Bellevue University. My current main interests in discussing AQIP are Action Project updates and updates to the Systems Portfolio. The more I RE-read AQIP documents with regard to its central purpose, the more I realize the everything I do as an Action Project Leader has implications for measurement and future documentation.
It has been a challenging and insightful year, especially since our project carries such a broad brush (in that it focuses on communication.) We have accomplished so much with this AQIP project that it is difficult knowing where to start with plans toward submitting a final cogent , measured, and worthwhile update. "Listing" accomplishments is easy. However, AQIP is far more than listing what has been done. It is knowing why you are chosing a particular project based on the institutional mission, measuring the results of what you have done to enhance quality in targeted areas, and taking your successes and failures forward as your institution plans for "continuous" improvement of its processes.
The best of what has been accomplished is the "branching out" of formal communications. Many faculty, administrators and staff members have taken part in the projects. Better than that, though, I get the feeling that the culture is really beginning to value "shared information". We want to be sure that THIS institutional change gets into our final report.
Is anyone "out there" coming to a close in year one? I would like to get a discussion of "expectations" for the Systems Portfolio updates going.
I appreciate the opportunity to take part in this forum
