Reports Required: Show-Cause Report: 10/01/2010; Show-Cause report due by October 1, 2010 providing substantive evidence that the institution has ameliorated each concern identified by the Board related to the Criteria and Core Components including but not limited to the following: Criterion One, “the institution operates with integrity to ensure the fulfillment of its mission through structures and processes that involve the board, administration, faculty, staff, and students,” particularly Core Component 1.d, “the institution’s governance and administrative structures promote effective leadership and support collaborative processes that enable the institution to fulfill its mission” and Core Component 1.e, “the institution upholds and protects its integrity”; and Criterion Two, “the institution’s allocation of resources and its processes for evaluation and planning demonstrate its capacity to fulfill its mission, improve the quality of its education, and respond to future challenges and opportunities,” particularly Core Component 2.b, “the institution’s resource base supports its educational programs and its plans for maintaining and strengthening their quality in the future.” The report must also provide evidence documenting that the institution meets each of the Criteria for Accreditation and Core Components. The report must also include the following information: Information related to demonstrating compliance with Core Component 1.d, including 1) modified bylaws clarifying the composition of the Board of Trustees and the role and authority of board members, particularly the role and authority of the Chair of the Board of Trustees as well as the autonomy of the Board from the influence of any other party, and particularly including policies governing conflict of interest that preclude issues of self-compensation and other self-dealing; 2) Board minutes that provide evidence that Trustees properly exercise their authority and function as outlined in the modified bylaws; 3) evidence that the duties and composition of the coordinating committees have been revised to provide effective monitoring and evaluation of CLG services; 4) evidence that senior leadership and the Board of Trustees have properly allocated responsibility for decisions about institutional policy and practice; Information related to demonstrating compliance with Core Component 1.e, including 1) evidence that information submitted to the Commission, government agencies, and the public is clear, consistent, and verifiable and that the institution has developed processes to ensure such characteristics in its communications, particularly those communications regarding the relationship between Ellis and CLG; 2) evidence that the relationship between Ellis and CLG has been made properly transparent to the Commission, government agencies, and particularly the public; 3) a copy of the current contract that governs the provision of services by CLG to Ellis to ensure that the information provided to the Commission and the public is consistent with the contractual terms governing the relationship; and Information related to demonstrating compliance with Core Component 2.b, including 1) evidence that the institution has assembled a new business plan for the academic and operational oversight of the University and for developing an independent financial resource base which is separate from the resources of any third-party provider whether it is CLG or another entity and that such plan does not compromise the autonomy of the institution, the mission of the institution, or the quality of the education it provides; and 2) evidence that significant concrete steps have been taken in the implementation of that plan.
